Content Description
Jacob H. Carruthers was one of six African Americans to integrate the University of Texas School of Law in 1950. He later taught at Northeastern Illinois University for 32 years and was the Director of the Kemetic Institute in Chicago. His papers include numerous articles authored by Carruthers dealing with African American and Africa though, history, and culture. Also included is a copy of a play entitled "J.J. Dessalines" authored by Carruthers.
